Terms of Service
- Your number arrives in writing before the truck is ever scheduled, not the morning it shows
- A fleet of 5, parked under one roof, staffed entirely by people we hired ourselves
- A $1M cargo policy backs every single job, anywhere across Greater Austin
These Terms of Service govern the moving and labor services provided by Texas Moving Labor (“Texas Moving Labor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to customers in Austin, Travis County, Williamson County, and along the long-distance routes we run out of Texas. By booking a move, requesting a quote, or using texasmovinglabor.com, you agree to the terms below.
Services
Texas Moving Labor provides local moving, long-distance moving, full packing, labor-only loading and unloading, piano and specialty-item moving, short-term storage, and related services described on this Site. Our crews are Texas Moving Labor employees working company-owned trucks and equipment — we don’t fill jobs with contracted labor or independent crews hired for a single day.
Pricing & Estimates
Local moves are billed hourly at rates published on this Site and confirmed at booking, subject to a two-hour minimum. Estimates provided over the phone or by email are based on the information a customer provides about inventory, access, and distance; the figure confirmed in writing at the pre-move walkthrough is the figure that governs the final bill, absent a material change in scope discovered on move day — an unlisted item, a flight of stairs not mentioned beforehand, or a change in destination, for instance. Long-distance moves are priced by weight and distance and documented in a written order for service before the move begins.
Scheduling & Cancellation
Move dates are held on a first-confirmed basis and may require a deposit to lock in a crew and truck, particularly during high-demand periods such as UT Austin move-in week in August. Customers may reschedule or cancel a move by contacting our office at (888) 278-9005 or [email protected]. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may forfeit some or all of a deposit, since a crew and truck held for that date are generally unavailable to book elsewhere on short notice.
Liability & Claims
Every move we run carries $1M in cargo coverage as standard, no add-on required. Unless a customer purchases additional valuation coverage in writing before the move, household goods are covered under the federal released-value standard of $0.60 per pound per article, which is the baseline liability level required of household goods carriers rather than full replacement value. Customers wishing to insure specific high-value items at a higher valuation should raise this with our office before move day so the correct coverage can be arranged. Claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing within nine months of the move date; claims submitted after that window may not be honored.
Payment
Payment is due upon completion of a local move unless other arrangements are confirmed in advance, and we accept major credit cards, debit cards, and other methods disclosed at booking. Long-distance moves may require a deposit prior to loading and final payment prior to unloading at the destination, consistent with standard practice for interstate household goods carriers.
Governing Law
Any dispute arising from services booked through Texas Moving Labor will be resolved under Texas law, since that’s where the company is licensed, based, and where the great majority of jobs either begin or end. Customers booking a long-distance move that starts or finishes outside Texas should understand that the interstate leg of that move is still coordinated and staffed out of our Austin office under this same set of terms.
